What would you like to know about it? This is my personal car with 8000 miles on it, and I’m currently writing a review on it, but I’d like to answer questions you may have . What things would you like to know? Interior things? Exterior things? How it drives? How good is it at carrying small dogs? Post your questions below.

Why not get the V8?

Im assuming you cross- shopped with the comparable Mustang , (would that be the v6 or the 4 cylinder) what made you go with Camaro over the Mustang ?

I want to know how many people ask if it’s a V8 and what’s their reaction to V6.

How many frozen burritos and/or hamsters can you fit in the glove compartment? If this car was a dog, what kind of dog would it be? How high can it jump before stuff gets damaged? Without them overlapping, how many postage stamps can you fit on the hood?

Is it as fun as an older 300hp Mustang?
The used market seems to price a newer V6 Camaro about the same as an older 300hp V8 ‘Stang, and I’m hoping to buy a fun pony car in the near(ish) future.

What happens if a bird poops on the hood? I was looking at one of these, but that matte black worried me since I was going to be parking it outside 24/7.

Have you ever had in on track? How was it? Is the back seat usable at all? Is there a problem with visibility, or did you get used to it? Do you drive it year round? How does it do in the snow? That is all....

Do these sell at a discount? Seems like Camaros are priced above similarly equ ipped Mustangs.

Randy Pobst, Race car driver and Motor trend host/ T est driver bought a 4 cyl 1LE.
I’m sure OP bought one because he wanted one

Arch Duke Maxyenko, Shit Talk E xtraordinaire bought an SS 1LE.
I just wanted to know if there was a particular reason for going with the V6.

Why V6 over Turbo-4? I’ve heard great things about the 4 but the 6 seems to often be described as a rental car engine.
![]() 12/12/2019 at 17:46 |

I bet Pobst can drive the 4 cyl car faster around than anyone can drive the v8!

I think that’s actually a reasonable question. If I wasn’t going to get a V8, I’d probably get the 4 cyl over the V6. It’s lighter and has more power potential with some mods.

That’s a fantastic question and I’ll make sure to answer why I actually feel it’s the opposite.

Because the 2.0T doesn’t sound like this. I just need to figure out how to get my GS to sound like this. Same engine.

The current V6 is now the LGX. It includes a new timing chain design which will hopefully be more reliable than GM’s previous high feature V6s .

There is no V6 Mustang any more.

Considering how poor Camaro sales have been in the last couple years, I’d be surprised if they don’t start giving one away with every new Corvette.

Manual or autobox? And, I will say, it’s a great looking car.

I work at a Chevrolet dealer and personally believe the V6 1LE is the best ~$35k sports car. With that said, what would you change about yours?
![]() 12/13/2019 at 18:39 |

I have a 2.oT 1LE that I’ve put 9k miles on since I got it in August, have thoroughly enjoyed it so far. How do you feel about the V6 sound? My turbo might as well be an electric car from a sound standpoint.
City/Freeway MPGs that you’ve seen? Mine gets 24/34 pretty regularly if I don’t lay into the boost too much.
Also, what exhaust setup is that? It looks like the Mishimoto axle-back that I’ve been considering for mine.

I got my 2.0T 1LE for $5k off MSRP; these get heavily discounted right now due to slow sales. I highly recommend a test-drive if these interest you! The warranty covers track & autocross, and the car comes with an oil cooler, transmission cooler, and a rear diff cooler too. A freakin’ diff cooler on a car this affordable is amazing.
A 2.0T Camaro is about 200-300 lbs lighter than a similarly-equipped EcoBoost Mustang too. V6 1LE is only 100 lbs heavier than the 4-banger Camaro too.

I really like your 2.0T! The V6 sound is one of my favorite things about it, tbh. I’ll get into it more later, but that exhaust is actually stock.
My gas mileage is eh. It could be better. A lot better. Especially for a V6. I’ll just say this: I’m very jealous of 24/34. What’s your average fuel economy per tank?
![]() 12/13/2019 at 20:54 |
|
I was averaging 22 mpg over the first ~6k miles, but that’s inclusive of 5 autocross days and poor shifting habits. I’d been upshifting near 3000 rpm for relaxed city driving, but eventually realized I can shift at 2500 or even 2000 and the LTG will still have plenty of torque. I see around 25-26 mpg per tank now.

Are the 1le cars all special order (COPO) stripper cars ( No AC or power accessories) with hardcore suspension and engine upgrades with 1LE specific GM part numbers like the ones from the 80s and 90s....??

If I’m being honest? I have no idea. I just assumed that Jalopnik-like pieces are fairly popular here, and that’s why I’ve been getting views.
